The year 2023 starts with a new production of Busoni's Doktor Faust at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. Under the direction of Davide Livermore,  conducted by Cornelius Meister Henschel will impersonate the title role -  22 years after he was awarded with a GRAMMY for this part and for the first time since.

Further opera activities include Gaetano Donizetti's opera Rita at the Opéra de Tours.

Gustav Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde with the Orquestra  Simfònica Illes Balears and Schönberg's Gurre-Lieder with the States Opera Prague are other highlights in Henschel's agenda.
